But for drinks instead of the shooty killy things. Like the one Clarkson had on his Range Rover

Isn’t that one for drinks and shooty killy things?

Depends on the quality of craftsmanship and materials you want. Anywhere from a few hundred or thousand, all the way up to more than the car costs new.

The one on top is, Jeremy’s is for both, I just want the drinks part.

Nothing too fancy, but I’d like a nice type of wood and some velour lining.

It would be fairly easy especially since you could find pretty much everything you need at a home depot or something. Considering that it was an option at all means that it shouldn’t be too difficult to even possibly source an aftermarket unit if you don’t feel like building one.

But the aftermarket one will probably be very expensive, I’ll probably take it to a carpenter/furniture making person

If you want to keep costs in control, veneered wood makes the most sense while giving you the look you want. Not sure what the wood on that cabinet is, but it’s probably a figured walnut or something like that. Also, it looks like it’s bookmatched which takes extra time and effort.
I think the other important thing would be padding/insulation just to make sure the damn thing doesn't creak and rattle too much while driving around, not to mention the thing needs to keep the contents safe. There's no sense is crying over spilled milk, but there is over spilled drink.

I’ll do it for you... and toss in a few dead bodies in there to boot.

I would say, for good craftsmanship and good wood, about 1-2K

Maybe veneered wood is the way to go, and solid wood is probably a bit heavier too. But I would to have it to have a plywood look. Insulation is my main concern, I want everything velour lined.

Will both my dead bodies and the cabinet fit in the trunk?

2k might be too much, 1k I can deal with.

Very easy, depending on budget. It’s just a matter of sourcing wood you like, figuring out attachment points then building two boxes with heavy duty roller bearing slides (or Teflon glides for saving the monies) and then cutting trim pieces to fit on the sides of the boxes. I’m planning on doing the same thing for my cruiser for gear eventually. Also there are many people like arb that make pre manufactured boxes of high quality you could veneer over.

When sourcing wood, there is only one answer. Mahogany. Rich rich mahogany

I think you could get it done 1K. I don’t know wood prices though. Although I think the majority would be labor. Beautifully crafted woodwork is hard work yo!

That’s nice to know, not sure the expertise or pre-made boxes are available here in Brazil, but I’ll check everything out. I’m going to try and match the wood with the Rangie’s interior trim.

I know, I think I’ll try and match the wood with the interior trim.

Why not just slap a cooler in the back?
It will actually keep your drinks cool which this fancy wood cabinet would not.

Fyi be aware that even relatively light all wood boxes are going to weigh 200 or more pounds

Well, if you want to do it yourself, it’s not hard, just time consuming. It might be easier to do it in plywood and then veneer it, but if you’re in Brazil, maybe good wood is much cheaper there.

Get a free dresser of craigslist (or whatever you have), cut it down to size. Done.
